Just one more to go
Aleksandra Blinnikka is destined for the World Championship in Blanes as only one day remains in the championship. Joao Rodrigues from Portugal is looking to secure his top spot tomorrow.
Two more races were held today in 5 – 6 kts, with the wind unfortunately dropping towards the end of the second race. The race committee was hoping to do one more start later in the day, but the conditions never came back and we finished the day at two races. Once again it was Aleksandra and Joao delivering the best results and if there are no last-minute surprises these could very well be our new World Champions.
Although the first place in the women’s fleet looks secured the fight for the other podium places is tight. Only one point separates Viviane Ventrin from France and Ilona Grinberga from Latvia, two more with Czech Jana Slivova. The three sailors will fight until the last moment for the two podium places.
In the men's fleet firmly in second is Curro Manchon, while Pedro Pascual and Borja Carracedo will be battling it out for the third place.
Tomorrow is the final day of the regatta and closing of a championship, that once again demonstrated the organizational capacity of Club Vela Blanes.
